Artique Consulting was founded in 2010 on the basis of three core rules, Executive Focussed, Simplify Complexity and Less Words/More Visualisation. These core rules combined with skills , experience and expertise in strategic planning and roadmapping, business and IT strategy, Investment Management and Capability Planning allow us to continue to deliver excellence in everything we do.

The word ‘Artique’ is a combination of two key elements of our value proposition. “Ar” – signifies our structured Enterprise Architecture approach and “tique” refers to the visualisation techniques and best practice methods used to develop our solutions.

Our People

JUSTIN ELLIS (Director and Founder of Artique Consulting) has over 12 years of strategic experience supporting CEO’s, CIO’s and CFO’s to achieve business outcomes across a diverse range of industries including, information communication and technology (ICT), education, health, transportation, natural resources, construction and financial services.

Driven by the desire to continually deliver innovative business solutions, Justin specialises in defining Business Architectures that achieve business growth to boost profits, talent, trust and brand loyalty in an uncertain global economy.

He is a highly regarded facilitator, thought leader, problem solver and advisor to company Boards, Directors and Executives, often called upon to provide business focused ICT insights and advice on industry, economic and technology trends.

He has managed and led multidisciplinary Business and ICT teams and has instigated numerous business and customer improvement change agendas that have resulted in improved customer service, increased financial viability and enhanced operating environments.


VENKATESH GADAM has about 18 years of experience in developing and implementing information management and business intelligence strategies at enterprise level. He has worked primarily in private sectors with significant government experience since last two years servicing DAF, DTESB.

Specific experience includes:
• Implementing end to end BI and Data Warehouse solutions for British Telecom, Procter and Gamble, Virgin Australia and Nokia
• BI and Digital Hub strategies for Optus Retail, Qantas, Virgin Australia, CUA – Big data solutions for Suncorp, Qantas
• Customer and Product MDM for Westpac, Optus Retail, NAB MLC, US IndyMac Bank
• Cloud solutions (real time data refresh to AWS) for Virgin Australia and Cloudera based cloud solution for Suncorp


Dr DANIEL PHILIP has over 12 years experience working with academia and public sector organisations across a range of industries including small business, health, human resources and science.

His career path from genetics and molecular microbiology to data science has honed a unique combination of skills including data visualisation, machine learning, modelling and statistics within the context of strategy development and decision support. This allows him to refine large and complex data sets into rich insights that can underpin the development of robust strategies or support executive-level decision-making.

His data solutions and visualisations are effective, creative and customer-focused. Recent uses of his unique skill set have included:
– design of interactive and visual business intelligence solutions;
– development of models for understanding online customer behaviours and experiences;
– development of scenario dashboards for damage costs of natural disasters; and
– design of machine learning experiments for large scale document analysis.


MATT HALL has 19 years experience in the private sector with numerous national and multi-national organisations. He has exceptional background in Sales, Sales Management, Trade Marketing, Account Management, and is a specialist in Strategic Planning, Business Intelligence, Information Systems, Enterprise Reporting and Analytics.

Matt, has been an asset for numerous organisations such as Parmalat, Smiths Snackfood Company, Nestle and Philip Morris International. He has now opened his specialised skill set to clients through SPIRE Analytics that is now an exclusive partner with Artique Consulting.

With an enourmous range of large private sector experience, Matt’s strength is managing, implementing and communicating high quality Strategic Planning, Insights, Reporting & Execution analytics to a range of end users in the most efficient and effective format.


STEVE HONA has operated in the Brisbane technology market for 17 years, working in private sector and federal and state government agencies. His government clients include the Australian Taxation Office, Department of Agriculture and Fisheries, Tourism Events and Small Business and Natural Resources and Mines. His private enterprise clients include Singtel Optus, Suncorp Group and Virgin Australia.

Stephen has helped government agencies implement an industry standard data warehouse and business intelligence platform that supports multi-agency scaling and machinery of government changes. He has provided influential advisory services to senior executives, prepared business cases benefits realisation plans and developed proof of concept dashboards and reports. He has led implementation of operational reporting and dashboard solutions across large agencies and managed user acceptance testing including remote located testers.

Stephen worked on Virgin Australia’s customer service platform replacement program managing reporting project scope and contingency planning, negotiating with and obtaining sign off from key stakeholders to the GM level. He managed business portfolios at Suncorp and Optus and led requirements specification, solution definition and acceptance testing for an in-house service desk and asset management system. He initiated and led business engagement in a distributed agile project that delivered a home loan insurance sales tool that integrated across customer, banking and life insurance platforms.


SEAN BLAIN is highly experienced in project management, business strategy, business analysis, enterprise architecture, ICT investment portfolio planning and management and benefits management.

Throughout a professional career of 20 years he has gained practical experience in project management business analysis, contract negotiation / management, business improvement and strategic planning. He has held management positions with both private and public sector organisations. These organisations have been involved in a diverse range of businesses, delivering a wide range of services. These include manufacturing, port management, human services, legal services and transport services.

Sean holds certifications in both Prince 2 and Managing Successful Programs as well as several technical certifications. He has been involved in organisation maturity assessments for Project Management, Portfolio Management and Benefits Management. He has also assisted in developing strategies for maturing an organisation’s project, portfolio investment, and benefits management capabilities through an incremental practically based approach.

He has also successfully delivered medium to large ICT and business improvement projects from both the initial start up phase as well as taking over stalled or failing projects and steering them to successful delivery.

Sean is comfortable communicating and working with personnel at all levels of an organisation from line service delivery employees through to senior management.


NICOLE SORBELLO has 28 years of experience working in the State Public Service, the Brisbane City Council and for Private Enterprise businesses, I bring a professional, ethical and polished set of skills to my current position as Executive Assistant for Artique Consulting Pty Ltd. I have performed in similar roles to Ministers for Government Departments, Commissioners, Senior Executive Officers and State Operations Managers allowing me to have exposure to working with high profile and public people.

My focus has centered around all aspects of Executive, Administration and Office Management type roles however I have expanded my skills further and performed in audit and compliance type roles during my time with the Office of Fair Trading. I am well versed in aspects of human resource management, workplace health and safety, finance and budgeting as well as procurement. My role as Executive Assistant for Artique Consulting is pivotal to the organisation and I pride myself on being able to assist the company directors and their stakeholders to the highest standard possible.
